“Creating art is just a nature instinct I have. It’s as natural as breathing to me. Art is like a window into my mind and imagination. My inspiration comes from crossing paths with other human beings, sharing stories and learning each other’s history. My goal in making art is to share my story and present it to the world, to leave behind a legacy, to make my children proud of me. For this series of paintings, I turned off the TV, no music, no one around me. Just me, my thoughts, and the sounds outside.
It was peace.” -Miya Bailey
“To put things simply, if I wasn’t making art I would probably go crazy. I’ve been drawing longer than I can remember and painting has always filled me with a sense of accomplishment and importance. Expressing my affection for the idea of beauty and popular culture has always been important for me as an artist, portraying modern culture in the most visually appealing way possible. I grew up watching a lot of cartoons and playing video games my whole life, which still holds a large influence on my style today. Within my art I use a lot of clean lines and bold colors which results in the vivid, stylized portraits I enjoy creating most.” -Corey Davis

Corey Davis talks Art and Tattooing with Sprite P.O.U.R [Interview]November 22nd, 2013
I recently did an interview with Sprite about art and tattooing, it was pretty fun experience! Shout out to Kayla, I really appreciate the opportunity. Check it out what they had to say below:
“Atlanta has become the playground to an array of graffiti and tattoo artists and Corey Davis is leading the charge in every form possible. Painting has transitioned into a personal outlet for Davis to let his creativity (and introvert side) flow more freely. Then there’s tattooing: the moneymaker that brings out the social outgoing part of Davis. Owner of the renowned tattoo shop City of Ink, Davis has paid his dues as a rapper, graffiti artist, painter and tattoo artist.” Read more about the interview HERE
